Welome to my web site. Please forgive the temporary broken links, as I am in the process of getting the site up and running over the next few days. But here is some information to get things started.
I am Bob Giaquinta, and I am running for the House of Representatives from the Third District of Nevada. I am running as a candidate of the Green Party of Nevada.
I am an ordinary citizen who is frustrated with the government that controls us. I would like to get some sanity into government in regards to big business, the environment, defense, transparency, morality, foreign policy, honesty, and human rights. I am not a career politician, but I do have a good knowledge of what is happening and would like to voice both your and my opinions in Congress. I will try to give examples of the foolishness of both major parties, and how they are controlled by big business.
My feeling is that a fifteen second TV ad does not address what politics is about. All it does is give name recognition, but does not discuss any of the important questions. I am sure that my opponents will spend hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars for this name recognition. I intend to have small group “town hall” meetings where I can tell you about my views and possible solutions, and ask you about your interests and your opinions.
I don’t care if you are a Republican, Democrat, Independent, or have any other affiliation. We can’t be naïve and trust the platforms of the major parties, which are usually discarded after the elections. We must put that which is best for peoples of the United States, and the world, before party affiliations. I will discuss the untouchables, such as Social Security, Medicare, and taxes. None of you, or myself, will like some of the solutions offered, but we can’t bury our heads in the sand. If you are a member of a major party, and read some of the issues at this site or attend one of my discussions, you might want to ask your present party’s candidate some pertinent questions. Governing should be predicated on the strong principals, practical wisdom, making tough choices, and transparency.
People say, “Oh the Green Party, aren’t you guys the environmentalists?”. Yes that is part of our platform, but the Green Party has what we call our Ten Key Value, with a link on this page, which are the general principles of our platform. To be more specific, and to inform you about me, and my platform, there are several links below:
Biography
Essays – several page essays on various subjects
Issues – short views on specific issues
Ten Key Values – Green Party platform
Donations – If you agree with me and would like to support my campaign
